Since the announcement of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in 2013 by the Chinese President Xi Jinping, this year marks the 10-year anniversary of BRI. We have witnessed fruitful and remarkable achievements between China and BRI participating countries throughout this 10-year journey.

In conjunction with 10-year anniversary of BRI, and the supports from the Malaysian Government and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, Southeast Asia Research Centre for Humanities(SEARCH)and Centre of Regional Strategic Studies(CROSS)will hold a “Belt and Road Symposium Malaysia” in October 2023, together with universities, think tanks and associations from both Malaysia and China.

A series of BRI roundtable and seminar nation tour will be held between June and September 2023 throughout east and west Malaysia aimed to engage and interact with multiple stakeholders on the issues related to BRI and cooperation between Malaysia-China.
